Redesigning an existing plant
The Sarakouh copper cathode plant is located at Jowzam, Kerman, and its client is Zarin Mehr Bardsir. The engagement addressed redesign, modification and commissioning of existing copper-production facilities.
Working within an existing site requires process changes to fit installed equipment and infrastructure. Zarfaravar’s scope at Sarakouh extends from engineering modifications through plant commissioning.
A copper heap-leaching route
Sarakouh uses heap leaching. Copper enters solution during ore leaching, while copper cathode is the stated final plant product. The connection between the heap and downstream recovery establishes the context for considering the circuit as an integrated process.
Project capacity and duration
The project description lists heap feed of 120,000 tonnes per year, cathode capacity of 500 tonnes per year and a six-month engagement. These specifications describe the scale of the Sarakouh redesign and commissioning scope.
